OUTCO attain Cyber Essentials accreditation

OUTCO are pleased to confirm we have attained this Cyber Certification for the whole OUTCO organisation.

Cyber-Essentials is a Government backed scheme that will help protect us from a whole range of the most common attacks.

Attacks come in many shapes and sizes, but the vast majority are very basic in nature.

  • Provides a framework of principles to follow to ensure we are doing all that we can to protect our organisation against attacks
  • Provides a clear picture of our organisation’s security level
  • Reassures customers that we take security seriously and are working to secure our IT environment against attacks
  • Some Government contracts require certification

This is a valuable investment for OUTCO. Here are some of the key benefits that we have experienced:

  • Improved customer confidence. Our customers know that we are taking security seriously, and that we have implemented basic technical controls to protect their data. This has helped us to build trust with our customers and to win new business.
  • Reduced risk of attack. By implementing the controls required for the certification, we have significantly reduced our risk of becoming a victim of an attack. This has given us peace of mind and has allowed us to focus on our core business activities.
  • Compliance with regulations. We operate in a number of regulated industries, and the certification helps us to demonstrate compliance with the relevant regulations. This is important for us, as it allows us to avoid fines and penalties.
  • Reduced insurance premiums. Our cyber insurance provider offers us a discount because we have the accreditation. This has saved us a significant amount of money on our cyber insurance premiums.
  • Improved employee awareness of cyber security. We have provided cyber security awareness training to all of our employees as part of the Cyber Essentials assessment process. This has helped to make our employees more aware of the cyber threats that we face, and how to protect themselves and our business from these threats.
  • Improved incident response capabilities. We have also developed an incident response plan as part of the Cyber Essentials assessment process. This helps us to be prepared to respond to a cyber attack in a timely and effective manner.
